Effective implementation of a quality system occurs when employees
take ownership and learn methods for continuous improvement. All
MQI training sessions are directed with this in mind. Our goal in
training is to make you and you company self-directed and self-sufficient.
Oh sure, we could make more money at MQI by keeping you reliant
on our staff and by charging you over and over again for the same
services. But instead, we choose to practice what we preach. If
you become an MQI client, we want you to be a satisfied MQI client.
Like our consultant services, we can conduct training dedicated
to your company, or in open training sessions.
 Some
of the courses available:
- ISO 9001:2000 Overview
The ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Standard includes several new requirements. The Quality Manual must "describe the sequence and interaction of the processes of the Quality Management System..."
What does this mean, and how is it done?
The quality policy must "provide a framework for establishing and reviewing quality objectives," and quality objectives "including those for product" must be established, and must be "measurable and consistent with the quality policy."
What does this mean?
The organization is required to "monitor and measure" both product and process.
What is the difference? How do you measure non-production type processes?

- ISO/TS 16949:2002 Overview
ISO/TS 16949:2002 is the international quality management system standard for the automotive sector. This Standard replaces the QS 9000:1998 quality assurance system requirement.
- What are the differences between TS 16949 and QS 9000? What are the similarities?
- Who can pursue TS 16949?
- When do I have to make the transition to TS 16949?
- How do the requirements for process design change the definition of "Design Responsibility?"
- How are "Customer Specific Requirements" handled under TS 16949?
- What is the registration process, and how is it different from "the old standards?"

- ISO 14001:1996 Overview

- ISO/IEC 17025:1999 Overview
ISO/IEC 17025:1999 is the International Standard for calibration, inspection and testing laboratories. 17025 replaces the former Standard, Guide 25. This is the Standard normally being referred to when the question is asked, "Are you A2LA certified?"
- What does the Standard define as a "laboratory?"
- What are the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025?
- How does 17025 "match up" with ISO 9000 and TS 16949?
- If my company is ISO 9000 or TS 16949 registered, do I need 17025?
- Is ANSI Z540-1 or ANSI/ASME B69 adequate for my laboratory?
- What does TS 16949 mean when it talks about "internal" and "external laboratories," and what does this mean to me?
- What is "Best Measurement Uncertainty," and how do I calculate it?

- Introduction to Quality Systems
Too often, quality systems are designed to satisfy registration/certification needs, and become a burden to the business. How can an organization assure that the quality management system provides something more than just a certificate on the wall and added work to everyone involved?
In addition to discussing the various quality system requirements, this course discusses and uses exercises to show how to make your quality system work for you, and not the other way around.

- Statistical Process Control
Many companies' experiences with "SPC" leads them to believe that it either doesn't apply to their situations, or that it provides no tangible benefit to them. The problem is that most of what is taught as "SPC" is really a more complicated way of charting inspection results, or what we call "Statistical Part Control." This series of courses is designed to help organizations make this tool useful.

- Applied Problem Solving
Six Sigma, 8D, 7S, 5P, 5 Steps, Seven Basic Tools, Seven New Tools.
Are you confused as to why there are so many problem solving and process improvement programs? This course makes it all practical. The course is taught on your site, using your processes and actual problems or improvement opportunities you'd like to address. We take all the gibberish, and translate it into the language of your company. We start by selecting a problem or process for in-depth analysis, then break it down, step by step.

- Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Control Plan Development
The requirements of ISO/TS 16949:2002 for FMEA and Control Plans remain the same as they were for QS 9000:1998. Most companies who perform FMEA's and write control plans, however, do not realize the full potential benefits of these tools.
This course uses your organization's product designs and manufacturing processes as case studies to learn how to make effective use of these quality planning tools.

- ISO 9001:2000 Internal Quality System Auditor
Part of your ISO 9001:2000 registration requires that you perform your own internal audits of your quality system. Companies typically train key staff from a variety of departments as internal auditors. MQI offers a standard Internal Auditor course that:
Explains the intent of the various sections of the Standard. That is, "What is this asking me to do?"
Discusses the process audit approach used by registrars to audit organizations to the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System Standard;
Uses case studies to teach the process auditing approach, and to provide practice for attendees in this auditing technique.
This course can be provided on-site at your location for a group of auditors who will conduct a process audit of your quality management system at your facility. Or choose to send your auditors to an MQI class at an off-site location. Either option provides an in-depth understanding of the standard, auditing essentials, and following the audit trail.
